  • September xx - "The Pale Ones" (Anders, Kun, Paul, Shawn) begin to rehearse. Donnie Steele joins after about three rehearsals, Kun Nong leaves after about six rehearsals.
  • September 15 - Joey attends a rehearsal of "The Pale Ones" and joins them shortly after.

Slipknot signs with Roadrunner Records

  • Slipknot parts ways with their managar Sophia John.

  • July 6 - Greg Welts is fired from the band, although he already didn't perform the two earlier dates.
  • July 8 - Slipknot signs with Roadrunner Records in front of the Axiom.

September

  • September 23 - Joey Jordison calls Ross Robinson and he tells the band to come to LA.
  • September 29 - Slipknot leaves Des Moines to record their debut album in California.

October

  • October 23 - Joey, Corey and possibly other band members attend the Fantômas show at the Troubadour.

November

  • November 11 - Slipknot's self-titled debut album is being mixed. The band returns home for the holidays.

December

  • December 11 - The Des Moines Soundproof Coalition performs at the Safari.
  • December 14 - The Des Moines Soundproof Coalition performs at Julio's.
  • December 18 - The Des Moines Soundproof Coalition performs at the Safari.
  • December 21 - The Des Moines Soundproof Coalition performs at Julio's.
  • December 25 - The Des Moines Soundproof Coalition performs at the Safari.

1999

  • Josh Brainard leaves the band and is replaced by Jim Root, completing the band's longest-standing line-up.
