"The Heretic Anthem" (orignally "Heretic Song") is the sixth track on Iowa, as well as the album's only promotional single.

Background

The Heretic Anthem has been released as a promotional single twice. One version of the promotional single was for Iowa, and included the rough mix of the song, called "Heretic Song". The other version was a live single that was a promotional item for Disasterpieces. This version included the performance of "The Heretic Anthem" from Disasterpieces in both audio and visual. It also included a trailer for Disasterpieces. The Heretic Anthem was originally named "Heretic Song" when it was first played live. The name was changed to The Heretic Anthem for the release of Iowa. The first riff from "The Heretic Anthem" was taken from an unreleased track from the Crowz Era called "Nature".

• At 3:40, after Corey finishes his last scream, there is a sound of broken glass. That was probably Ross Robinson, the producer, who was throwing potted plants and candles during the making of the record.
