"Rites and Rage" is an unreleased scrapped song from Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.[1][2]

Background[]

"The band decided 'Rites and Rage' was a bit too 'Jet City Woman' by Queensryche-sounding. Paul's bass line was a bit similar, but that was it. I liked the song because I had some intricate things I was doing on my drums. It was the third song we wrote, and we played it live. It was, however, one of the first to leave our live set."
Anders Colsefni[3]
"Wow, great song. Felt a little how do I say, maybe a little jammy, and possibly not enough time to conquer all lyrical possibilities, but and again, I wouldn't change a thing. Just at that time period, that's why it got cut."
Shawn Crahan[4]
