"Purity" is the ninth track on Slipknot.
Background
"Purity" is based on the song "Despise". After Corey Taylor read a story on a website, some of the lyrics in "Despise" were changed to match the story's idea. According to the story, a girl named Adrianne Purity Knight was kidnapped and buried alive. Corey thought that the story was true, but the author claimed that Adrianne was fictional, and objected to the use of the story in the song. "Despise" was later re-titled "Purity" to match Purity Knight's name. This was the last song recorded for the album.

Trivia
- Due to a lawsuit, "Purity" and its intro "Frail Limb Nursery" were removed from the album shortly after its release and replaced with "Me Inside". While "Purity" was included on the 10th anniversary edition of Slipknot, "Frail Limb Nursery" remains un-rereleased.
