Alessandro "Alex" Venturella (born April 12, 1984) is the current bassist for Slipknot, filling in the spot made by Paul Gray after his death and Donnie Steele after his departure.

Joining the band[]

Venturella was one of the new additions to the band along with Jay Weinberg, and along with Jay, his identity was kept secret from fans as he wasn't a full member at the time. However, fans eventually used the music video for The Devil in I to leak his identity due to the tattoos on his hand.

His original mask (for .5: The Gray Chapter) was exactly the same as Jay Weinberg's (before he made changes to it). It was in the design of a mask made from a burlap sack with the Slipknot nine-pointed star on the forehead and a zipper on the mouth, he then added his own details to his mask. His mask for We Are Not Your Kind is a round metallic mask with detailed patterns.

Onstage Incident[]

On August 2nd, 2015, a Slipknot show in Hartford, Connecticut was interrupted when Venturella collapsed into the crowd, where he was caught by the fans and was rushed to a hospital.

Slipknot made an official statement on their social media revealing that "V-Man" was severely dehydrated, therefore causing his incident.
