Adderall is the first extended play by American heavy metal band Slipknot. It was released on June 9th, 2023, through Roadrunner, despite their contract with the label ending back in April 2023.
Background[]
Promotion for the EP began on June 8th, with a cryptic video uploaded onto Slipknot's social media displaying nine mannequins wearing suits and sitting in a large room covered in a plastic tarp. The video also contained a short clip featuring the youcantkillme.com URL.[1] Visiting this website, people were greeted by an embedded YouTube video for "Death March".[2][3] The next day, the EP was released on streaming platforms and a video for the rough mix of "Adderall" was also shared.[4]
Leaks[]
On May 24th, information about an upcoming EP was leaked onto "VK Filter" and was later reposted onto Reddit.[5] The reddit post included the EP's name, release date and artwork, with the track listing being found in the comments.[6] On the suspected day of release, the reddit leaker shared an update, stating that the release date had been changed with the EP releasing 2 weeks later on June 9th.[7] Despite the EP being delayed, it appeared on the music streaming app "Trebel Music" with users able to download and listen to the songs.[8]
